Comparative analysis of the performance of Multi-GNSS RTK: A case study in Turkey

The Real Time Kinematic (RTK) method is widely used in the land surveying. Whereas RTK has advantage of practical use, positioning accuracy depends mostly on baseline length due to atmospheric errors. In general, measurements are made by using GPS and GLONASS satellite systems. For this reason, performance technique adversely affected under restricted geometry conditions such as urban canyons. At present, most receivers market have ability track signals Galileo BeiDou satellites. Therefore, study, with different combinations (GPS-only, GPS+GLONASS, GPS+GLONASS+GALILEO+BeiDou) was examined a comparative approach. A field test carried out considering approximately 20, 40, 60, 80 km baselines. Three cut off elevation angles – namely, 10°, 20°, 30° were chosen for test. results investigated terms precision. Also, ground truth coordinates rovers obtained post-processing relative GAMIT/GLOBK software. showed that multi-GNSS provided better repeatability at 10° angle option. GPS-only solutions varied between 0.63/2.17 cm 2.40/4.94 horizontal vertical components, respectively. However, did not remarkable superiority position even high (30°) compared RTK.
